About Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery

Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery represents the modern face of Old Mission Peninsula winemaking. Walt and Eileen Brys transformed a former cherry farm into one of the region's most visually striking and critically acclaimed wineries.

The contemporary tasting room, with its soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, offers panoramic views of East Grand Traverse Bay and the surrounding vineyards. The architecture itself is a draw — clean lines and natural materials that complement rather than compete with the landscape.

Winemaker Coenraad Stassen brings international experience to the cellar, producing small-lot wines that consistently earn high marks from critics and competitions. The estate's Signature Red blend and Naked Chardonnay are standout wines, but the entire portfolio reflects careful attention to quality.

Brys Estate also operates a distillery, producing small-batch spirits from their own fruit. The tasting experience offers flights of both wine and spirits, making it a versatile stop on the wine trail.

Fun Fact
Brys Estate was built on a former cherry orchard — a common origin story for Leelanau vineyards, since the same well-drained glacial soils and lake-moderated climate that produces exceptional tart cherries also turns out to be nearly perfect for Riesling and Pinot Noir.
